iWatch Series 8 versions:
There are currently two distinct Apple Watch versions:
Just like the Apple Watch 8, the Apple Watch SE also debuts in two sizes (40mm and 44 mm respectively). The Apple Watch Ultra comes in only 1 (huge) size – 49mm.
Apple Watch Series 8 design & display
The new Watch Series 8 features a familiar design that heavily resembles its predecessor. The only major design change comes from the Apple Watch Ultra.
In terms of materials, users can choose between aluminum and stainless steel for the case of the Apple new Watch 8. The finish can be in one of seven shades – Midnight, Starlight, Gold, Graphite, Silver, Space Black, and (PRODUCT) RED. The case of SE version comes only in aluminum and can be one of three colors (Midnight, Starlight, and Silver). The Apple Watch Ultra is the only Apple wearable to date to feature a titanium case, which comes in only one color.
Apple Watch Series 8 battery
The Apple Watch 8 brings major improvements to battery life and a bump in battery capacity as well. Apple promises 18 hours of battery life under normal circumstances, and up to 36 hours with the Low Power mode enabled. This means users should not have any trouble lasting a full day with their Apple Watch 8. Of course, the bulkier Apple Watch Ultra is even more impressive in the battery life department, but the latter plays in a league of its own.
Apple Watch Series 8 health features and software
The Apple Watch 8 is the first wearable from Apple to have an Always On Display. The feature is rather self-explanatory: the newly released Watch Series 8 remains permanently on stand-by and displays the preset watch face.
One of the highlights of the new iWatch Series 8 is the more advanced monitoring of women’s health. Apple has introduced a sophisticated Cycle Tracking feature that uses a dedicated temperature sensor in order to produce retrospective estimates of when ovulation has occurred. For those concerned about their personal health data, Apple has ensured once again that the highest degree of privacy standards are maintained. Because of data encryption, no one, not even Apple itself, has access to your personal information.
The Apple Watch Series 8 also introduces a new Crash Detection feature, which remains on stand-by when the wearable detects that you are driving. The Apple Watch Series 8 can distinguish between three types of crashes: side impact, rear-end collision, and rollovers.
Another new feature on the Apple Watch Series 8 is the new Low Power mode. Once enabled, it will limit some of the more power-hungry features (like the Always On Display) while still maintaining the most important ones (like health monitoring and activity monitoring).
